  A "psychic" is  a term used for someone who claims to possess extrasensory perception (ESP) or the ability to perceive information beyond the normal human senses .  This can include abilities like  clairvoyance  (seeing things not present),  telepathy  (mind-to-mind communication), and  precognition  (knowing the future).  Psychics may or may not associate their abilities with a particular spiritual or religious belief system.
